Corona Kavach policy is offered in various sum assured options- Rs. 50,000, Rs. 1 Lakh, Rs. 1.5 Lakh, Rs. 2 Lakhs, Rs. 3.5 Lakhs, Rs. 4 Lakhs, Rs. 4.5 Lakhs and Rs. 5 Lakhs.

What Corona Kavach Policy Covers?

Here are some benefits offered by Corona Kavach policy-

  • Hospitalisation Expenses

The bed-charges, blood tests, oxygen, nursing charges, PPE kits, and doctor consultation fees will get covered in thishealth insurance policy.

  • Pre-Hospitalisation Expenses

Pre-hospitalisation expenses such as doctor consultations, diagnosis, and check-ups are covered in this policy. Such expenses will be covered up to 15 days before hospitalisation.

  • Post-Hospitalisation Expenses

Medical expenses incurred up to 30 days after discharge can also be covered in this policy.

  • Home Care Treatment Expenses

In case a policyholder is getting medical treatment for the coronavirus at home, his/her medical expenses can be covered in this policy. Such expenses will be covered up to 14 days.

What Doesn’t Corona Kavach Policy Cover?

Below are a few things that Corona Kavach policy doesn’t cover-

  • Unproven Treatments

Expenses incurred due to unproven medical treatments will not be covered. This policy covers the medical treatment that is authorised by the government.

  • Day care Treatments

Expenses incurred due to day care procedures or OPD treatments will not be covered.

  • Unauthorised Test

If the testing of a person is done at a diagnostic centre that is not authorised by the government, then his/her expenses will not be covered.

  • Dietary Supplements

Expenses that arise due to the purchase of medicine without a doctor’s prescription will not be covered.

  • Vaccination

Any expenses that may arise due to vaccinations, inoculations, or other preventive treatment will not be covered.
